Important information when exporting to Brazil
- In order to ensure a delivery on time, please ensure that your parcel has the full, correct address, an email address in the correct format and a mobile or landline number for the intended recipient. This will help the delivery partner to ensure the parcel is delivered correct first time. This should be clearly marked on the parcel.
- Timescales shown above do not include delays caused by destination country customs processes. Please be aware that customs could add additional time to your parcel delivery.
- The definition of 'working days' and other important information can be found here
- To avoid delivery / customs issues, our carrier partners request that a full name is mandatory for globalexpress parcels (e.g. Mr John Smith)
- Requirement for commercial invoice on headed paper.
- Drugs, non-prescription are prohibited.
- Used goods are also prohibited and will be destroyed if found inside items.
- All shipments regardless of contents are liable for duties and taxes
- All non document shipments require the customers Tax ID number (CNPJ for companies, CPF for Individuals)
- globalexpress transit times are based upon collection times, sender and recipient locations.
- For details, please use the globalexpress calculator (via 'delivery' tab) here
[Note for awareness: the globalexpress calculator illustrates delivery speeds for parcels sent by account customers; parcels sent by retail channels may take longer and depend on posting method]
- Sending parcels to Brazil requires customs paperwork for most items
- It is recommended you use the Commodity Code (Harmonized Commodity Description and Coding System ('HS' code)) when declaring your goods. This will ensure your goods attract the correct Duties.
- The use of the receiving company’s CNPJ number, which is their Tax I.D., will assist in expediting the customs process.
- The Federal Revenue Department of Brazil requires the Taxpayer Identification Number (CPF) and a local telephone number on all shipments. If customers are registered on the Correios platform "Minhas Importações", they will receive a message asking them to add their CPF or they can see where this is required and add this via their tracking website. Items that do not contain the appropriate CPF may be subject to return.
- It is also recommended that you use a Customs broker.
