Important information when exporting to Argentina
General Advice
- In order to ensure a delivery on time, please ensure that your parcel has the full, correct address, an email address in the correct format and a mobile or landline number for the intended recipient. This will help the delivery partner to ensure the parcel is delivered correct first time. This should be clearly marked on the parcel.
- Timescales shown above do not include delays caused by destination country customs processes. Please be aware that customs could add additional time to your parcel delivery.
- The definition of 'working days' and other important information can be found here
- To avoid delivery / customs issues, our carrier partners request that a full name is mandatory for globalexpress parcels (e.g. Mr John Smith)
- Total Consignments exceeding 50KG or 1000 USD require the services of a broker. Importer Tax ID Required (CUIT/CUIL)
- Tax ID of the consignee required for all shipments containing merchandise.
- Shipments containing used or repaired items - only allowed 3 of the same items or maximum of 1000USD per consignee per day. Maximum of 5 shipments per year.
- All other shipments must be cleared via a broker. Personal shipments for foreigners must be cleared through customs by consignee themselves.
- globalexpress transit times are based upon collection times, sender and recipient locations.
- For details, please use the globalexpress calculator (via 'delivery' tab) here
[Note for awareness: the globalexpress calculator illustrates delivery speeds for parcels sent by account customers; parcels sent by retail channels may take longer and depend on posting method]
- Sending parcels to Argentina requires customs paperwork for most items
- In order to confirm that your items are not prohibited or restricted, please check our dedicated page here
- Since January 2014, Argentina’s government has had restrictions limiting citizens to two purchases of goods from foreign e-commerce websites each year and restricted the value to only $25 worth of total goods.
- Anyone looking to buy more than this amount will have to register with the government as importers (CUIT/CUIL), to comply with the country’s new import regulations, the "General Import Regime".
- As well as registering as importers, consumers buying more from abroad than the two-item, $25 limit will face a 50% import tax on anything they buy, including shipping costs.
- Consumers buying more than their limit of goods will not be able to have items delivered to their home, or even to a post office for collection — they will have to pick up items direct from customs facilities and complete paperwork to collect items.
