Parcelforce preparations for leaving the EU

The Brexit transition period ended at 11pm GMT on 31 December 2020.

At the end of the transition period, the rules which applied to non-EU imports were extended to EU items. Similarly, the EU now treats UK imports as it does non-EU imports today.

We have worked to ensure the smooth flow of parcels across borders and are well placed to manage the impact of changes to customs processing.

This has included the following activities:

  • Dedicated Brexit programme
  • Working closely with Government and other stakeholders to put in place systems that will ensure parcels continue to move across borders effectively
  • Continually improving our operation to increase efficiency and reduce the impact of potential changes to customs process
  • Working with key suppliers to ensure our supply chain remains secure.
