Exporting is Great Campaign

At Parcelforce Worldwide, we’re committed to helping UK businesses grow. With lots of small and medium-sized companies looking to try their hand at exporting, we’re hoping our partnership with the government’s Exporting is GREAT campaign will give these businesses the advice and support they need to succeed on an international level.

Who are The Department for International Trade?

The Department for International Trade (DIT) is the government department helping businesses to export and expand into overseas markets. They provide access to a range of trade specialists in the UK and overseas which help businesses acquire the skills, contacts and confidence to start exporting or to break into new markets.

What is Exporting is GREAT?

Exporting is GREAT is the government’s most ambitious export campaign to date, launched in partnership with a range of well-known brands and businesses, including Parcelforce Worldwide and Royal Mail. Its aim? To inspire and support 100,000 additional UK exporters to sell their goods and services overseas by 2020. The campaign wants to turn the UK into the world’s greatest exporting nation, capturing the imagination of the public, boosting business confidence and national pride, and empowering more companies to succeed in global markets.

Why are Parcelforce Worldwide supporting?

Many small and medium-sized businesses in the UK still require support in expanding their operations overseas, and, as part of the Royal Mail Group, Parcelforce Worldwide is uniquely placed to be able to offer support in this area. We already handle a large number of exported parcels from the UK, and have connections established across the globe, which we can use to drive small and medium-sized businesses forward.

How can Parcelforce help your business export?

The exporting section of the Parcelforce Worldwide blog is full of useful advice for businesses either thinking of exporting, or exporting already. We also provide exporting advice on our website, including guidelines on customs regulations, export licences and clarification around certain exporting processes, such as VAT and exporting from outside the EU. Here, we’ll point you in the right direction of the relevant organisations and departments that can process your exporting documentation and inquiries.

Update: This article has been amended to reflect the fact that the UKTI has been replaced by The Department For International trade
